Spending Money
We can recommend an approximate sum, but how much you take is obviously a personal matter. Always take more rather than less, so as not to spoil the trip with insufficient funds. If you want to enjoy a special beverage with food or purchase many souvenirs, we would recommend taking much more than the minimal 15 dollars per day. Visa cards are the most widely accepted, and credit cards and debit cards are very useful for cash advances. ATMs are widely available. Check with your bank about any possible fees. You should be aware that to purchase products or services on a credit card a fee of about 8% usually applies. Do not rely on credit or debit cards as your only source of money. Taking travellers cheques, cards, Euros and US dollars is an important component of funding your trip. Budget about $15 USD per day for other meals which are not included. (All meals are included while on the trek , in the jungle, and during home stays. The rest of the trip you have to pay for your food, and the tour leader can provide you plenty of recommendations, according to your budget.

Tipping
There are several times during the trip where it is appropriate to tip the staff. You may do this individually, or your tour leader will offer to collect the money near the end of the trip. Tipping is very much appreciated and is a way to show gratitude for the comfort in which you are able to have your experience. 10% of your tour package fee is a good guideline for total tipping.
